Make A Difference @ Mission Without Boarders

The banner above features Rusalina Turcu, age 12. Her mother has lived abroad since she was little, leaving Rusalina in the care of her aunt.  Rusalina embodies the sad reality of many present-day Moldovan children.  There are more than 100,000 children left behind in Moldova as one or both parents seek work abroad, leaving their villages desolate.

Through our After School project and other forms of support, MWB offers emotional, spiritual and practical support to children like Rusalina.

Your donation can contribute to this vital work.  With your help, we can offer support and hope to many more children who would otherwise merely feel abandoned.

Chris Chameleon @ Centurion Theatre

Boo! began in 1997 in the backstreets of dirty Brixton, Johannesburg, South Africa, when it’s first members, Ampie Omo, Chris Chameleon and Leon Retief conspired to make music that would go against most of the conventional wisdom of the time. Having considered names like “Yellow Lilo” and “Die Wit Ding Wat in Die Pad Le”, it was Chris’ dream of playing to the sound of a stadium boo-ing the band that eventually won out.

A Plastic Ocean @ The Bioscope

The film festival’s mission is simply to raise awareness, through the amazing medium of documentary film, of the many pressing environmental issues the planet is facing, and the solutions people are taking to solve them. We hope you will be informed, inspired, challenged, uplifted and entertained by this year’s Festival offerings.
